D Magazine is reporting that Indiana-based Zotec Management is accusing a former employee of trade secret theft and customer interference.

Dr. Dhruv Chopra, a licensed radiologist, worked as vice president and senior vice president at Zotec for more than a decade. Zotec is the nation’s largest private patient engagement, revenue cycle, and practice management company.

It accused Dr. Chopra of improperly using proprietary information to poach Zotec clients. What’s interesting about the claimed trade secret theft by Dr. Chopra is that he is alleged to be misappropriating information regarding Zotec’s software’s “glitches or flaws or billing errors, and he is claiming that there’s something wrong with our software.”

I’ll keep an eye on this one for you because the trade secrets of a software’s glitches and errors is an interesting misappropriation theory.
